Autism Spectrum Disorder Services
Effective July 1, 2017, the South Carolina Title XIX State Plan included covered autism spectrum disorder (ASD) services for medically-eligible individuals up to 21 years old.
These services are intended to provide medically-necessary and evidence-based behavioral and psychological treatment to individuals with a confirmed diagnosis of ASD. These services may be provided in the member's home, in their community, in their school or in a psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF).
Want to Become A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)?
SCDHHS has partnered with Clemson University and the University of South Carolina to sponsor courses for individuals interested in becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
Any South Carolina resident with a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree may apply to these 2-year programs.
