SCDHHS highly values the safety of beneficiaries’ personal information and does not call
beneficiaries asking for personal information such as their social security number.  Beneficiaries
should never give out their social security number or other personal information to anyone they
have not contacted.  If they do receive a suspicious call, they should contact local law enforcement
immediately.
