2017 PCSC Conference: Call for Proposals

The Palmetto Coordinated System of Care (PCSC) Conference convenes South Carolina stakeholders in an effort to continually improve the behavioral health system for children, youth and families. During last year’s daylong conference attendees learned about the PCSC, its goals and key components of the statewide system of care. This year the conference will be held over a two-day period, Sept. 13 and 14 in Columbia, S.C.

View the Save the Date. Keynote speaker Dr. Bruce Chorpita will share his widely-known MAP/MATCH approach, a resource designed to increase the integration of evidence-based models for children and youth in the practice setting, Wednesday, Sept. 13. The target audience for Wednesday’s activities is providers. Attendees will also hear from experts representing the Pyramid Model, Triple P, Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), Multisystemic Therapy (MST) and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT).

The target audience for Thursday, Sept. 14, is youth, families, providers and child-serving agencies. Dr. Chorpita will deliver a morning keynote emphasizing the importance of family engagement in the provision of services for children and youth and its overall value to a system of care. A discussion with families and family organizations will follow Dr. Chorpita’s presentation.

In keeping with the theme of family engagement, the planning committee is seeking proposals for two afternoon breakout session tracks: 1) youth and family and 2) provider and agency. Suggested topics, themes and submission criteria have been outlined in the call for proposal.

Questions regarding the proposal request should be sent to Janice.Bailiff@scdhhs.gov. All responses to the call for proposals should be submitted by noon Thursday, May 18, 2017.
