TF-CBTWeb 2.0 is Here

On January 2, 2018, the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center at the Medical University of South Carolina will launch a new revised and updated version of its online course on Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, TF-CBTWeb 2.0 (www.musc.edu/tfcbt2). TF-CBTWeb 2.0 is a brand new course that incorporates the most recent research and clinical updates to TF-CBT. They have worked carefully with the TF-CBT developers and approved master TF-CBT trainers to develop this new course. The course has several new modules and a wealth of new material, including new training videos and downloads. It is comprised of 11 modules:

  • Foundations of TF-CBT
  • Psychoeducation
  • Parenting Skills
  • Relaxation
  • Affect Identification & Regulation
  • Cognitive Coping
  • Trauma Narration and Processing I & II
  • In Vivo Mastery
  • Conjoint Parent-Child Sessions
  • Enhancing Safety & Future Development

Upon completion of TF-CBTWeb 2.0, learners will be awarded 11 hours of continuing education. If you have completed the original version of TF-CBTWeb, you are still eligible to complete this new course and receive the CE hours since it is a brand new course.

Up to this point, they have been able to support the considerable expense of maintaining TF-CBTWeb through grants. Unfortunately, that funding has ended. In order to develop and offer this new course in a sustainable manner, regularly update the content, update it technically, and provide their usual level of customer service to learners, TF-CBTWeb 2.0 will have a $35 fee payable by credit card at the time of registration. This nominal fee is consistent with the cost of a professional book and will enable us to continue to offer this valuable clinical training resource.

The original version of TF-CBTWeb is now closed to new registrations and will cease operations on Dec. 31, 2017. If you are registered for the original course, you have until Dec. 31, 2017, to complete it.  At that time, it will be closed. If you do not complete the entire course prior to this date, all work will be lost and you will not receive a Certificate of Completion or CE credit for that course. Learners who have completed the original version of  will be able to access and download their Certificate of Completion till May 31, 2018. At that point, the site will be completely shut down.  We encourage you to save a copy of your Certificate of Completion in your own records.

Beginning January 2, 2018, you can access TF-CBTWeb 2.0 at www.musc.edu/tfcbt2.

MUSC is very excited about the new course and think that you will find it even more helpful than the original. If you have questions about TF-CBTWeb 2.0, please contact us at tfcbt@musc.edu.
